AFTER-CLASS READING

I. Underline the object clauses in the text.

One day, Mr"and"Mrs White received a pair of tickets for a wonderful play. At first they were very pleased, because they knew the tickets weren’t easy to get. But then they began to wonder who sent them the tickets. The person didn’t give his name or address in the letter.

The Whites called all their friends to find out who had sent the tickets. But none of them had done it,"and"nobody knew who it was.

That evening, they went to see the play. It was wonderful, but they weren’t able to enjoy it very much, because they were still worrying about where the tickets had come from"and"what it meant.

When they came back home late in the evening, they found that most of their things had been stolen. On the table there was a note. It said, “Now you know who sent you the tickets.”"And"finally they knew what it meant, but it was too late.
