A driverless car is the perfect cheap taxi.
Because driverless cars in the city are electric, pollution will drop.
Driverless cars won’t get lost, and there won’t be so much traffic any more.
People won’t worry about safety problems. They can eat, work, sleep, play computer games and so on in the cars.
Driverless cars will hardly ever need to park, and certainly not in city centers.
On the other hand, driverless cars will bring some problems:
Over the next 20 years, drivers and some other people may lose their jobs.
Carmakers are especially concerned. The few cars of the future might be made by tech companies such as Apple, Baidu and Google.
Insurers are going to struggle, because many insurers now get about half their revenues from automobiles.
