II. Listen"and"complete the dialogue.

Girl: Tom, you are always late for class this term. Why are you late this time?

Boy: Because my mother’s car broke down on my way to school this morning.

Girl: Does your mother’s car break down every day?

Boy: No, it doesn’t. Her car will be OK tomorrow. A kind man will fix the car for free this afternoon.

Girl: For free?

Boy: Yes. We don’t need to pay for it.

Girl: Really?

Boy: He is my father. He’s an engineer.

Girl: Why didn’t your father fix the car before?

Boy: Because he has been in America, working.
